Master Thesis - Modelling of Thermodynamic cycle tailored for synthetic fuels

Join us on our journey #SiemensEnergy

Siemens Energy’s 91,000 employees around the world are passionately pursuing one common goal: to energize society with affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy systems.

Join our great team and put your energy to use.

The MGT (Medium Gas Turbines) Performance department is responsible for analysis and modelling of transient and steady-state performance of the MGT products. We are also the competence center for studies of new thermodynamic cycles.

We are now looking for a student to take on the assignment modelling a new thermodynamic cycle tailored to fit together with synthetic fuels.

The assignment:

Everything points at the future power cycles must be free from fossil fuels, the fuels therefore can either be biomass or synthetic fuels. This work aims at investigating the potential of developing a new cycle that is tailored to fit the future synthetic fuels.

The scope for this master thesis will be within cycle analysis and new cycle concepts. The thesis will involve development of our thermodynamic component library in the tool IPSEpro by Simtech. The focus will be on modelling and understanding the thermodynamics behind to get a high-efficient cycle.

Your Profile:
The project fits you who are…
* You have good knowledge and interest in thermodynamics.
* You have knowledge and interest in thermal power cycles and turbomachinery.
* You are eager to learn and find solutions.
* You are able to think outside the box and attack problems from different views.
* We encourage an open mind, transparency and diversity.
* Previous experience in IPSEpro is a plus.
