A Snapshot of Your Day

The ever-growing complexity of the simulations performed in this company require solution that can cope with large amounts of data. State-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics simulation are used to accurately predict the behavior of the combustor chamber. The results from these simulations need to be transferred to other models used, for instance, to determine the mechanical integrity of the component. The mapping of data from one domain to another is a known problem which has many solutions; the challenge here is to perform this mapping in a manner that fits the current work process of the department with good computational performance and accuracy.

In short, the project outcome should be a robust algorithm written in Fortran that can map a cloud of 3D data to a different 3D domain. The algorithm should be compatible with parallel computing.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact
* Improving the current work process of the department
* Improving simulation techniques and allowing more advanced simulations

 

What You Bring 
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or
* Courses in computational simulations would be an asset (CFD or finite element methods).
* Scientific programming skills such as Fortran or other programming languages are an asset.
