Master thesis - Seamless Reverse Supply Chain

Background
Service Market Logistics (SML) is part of Group Trucks Operations. We have 3800 employees in more than 60 locations worldwide. SML is responsible for distributing spare parts as well as returning spare parts, cores, batteries etc. from dealers to our distribution centers. Managing the Reverse Supply Chain in a controlled way is vital to the Volvo Group Service Market success moving forward. We are striving for a seamless & digital return process providing improved visibility and customer experience.


Thesis questions and expected outcome
We want to have a better understanding of how we could design, execute, and follow up our Reverse Supply Chain. We want the students to make a benchmark with other automotive as well as other business domains/organizations.
We would like the students to create a Reverse Supply Chain footprint including physical flow, financial flow and information flow.


Student profile and application
The ideal student(-s) will possess good communications skills in English, shows a high level of initiative, is self-driven and has excellent analytical capabilities. We are looking for you who are eager to bring your knowledge from the academia and combine it with real business insight to support us in developing and setting the course of the reverse transport supply chains.


We believe that you are a master student(-s) in the Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Transportation or other relevant fields.
