Arbetsbeskrivning

Master Thesis - Transonic flutter and advanced aeromechanical predictions in 3D optimized compressor blade designs
As higher power output and efficiency are driving modern gas turbine designs, the compressor is facing ever more aeromechanical challenges, in particular with extensively 3D optimized blading. In this master thesis project, you will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art industrial front stage compressor design and perform in-depth studies on the underlying mechanism contributing to transonic compressor flutter, utilizing advanced in-house aeromechanical design tools. The complete chain of analyses will be conducted including mistuning, effect of 3D as-manufactured geometry etc. and benchmarking against engine test data.
