Service Market Logistics is part of Group Trucks Operations. We are approximately 3,500 employees in over 40 locations globally and deliver world class operational excellence for our customers based on smart logistics solutions. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands and Joint Ventures.
Artificial Intelligence is becoming a recurring technology used in the business applications, also in the field of Logistics. This means that the business needs capabilities to manage the AI environment, in areas regarding performance monitoring, continuous training of models, as well as competence, root cause analytics and more.
Supply Planning and DIM in Service Market Logistics spend a lot of time in communication whether it is emails, phone calls, meetings, training sessions or meeting preparations. Within our organization we are working with continuous improvement and citizen development to improve our way of working and quality.

Description of thesis work
We would like the students to explore and preferably develop an AI communication in our near interface. It can be between departments, internal processes or towards external stakeholders We would like the students to investigate communicative bottlenecks in our work together with some of our employees and explore methods within for example Natural Language Processing. As output, we would like to have a proof of concept showing a way to use AI as a communicative tool within Supply Chain.
