Material Engineer - Västerås

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Material Engineer- Simulation to join our passionate team in Västerås.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon-free society.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing various simulation models for electrolytes system of Li-ion battery
Set-up calculation/simulation competence field for future battery development
Investigation about the correlation between Experimental data and simulation data



You will be reporting to the Senior Technical Manager of Battery Materials.The person we are looking for is strongly goal-oriented, curious and eager to learn. You will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story in Sweden (to start with) and see the results of your work. Skills & Requirements
Required experiences
A PhD in Physical/Analytical/Computational Chemistry with a focus on electrolytes
+3 years of experience in molecular dynamics simulations and statistical mechanics
+3 years of experience in programming languages

Specific skills (eg specific programmes, languages, certifications etc)
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills with relevant teams
Excellent English in written and oral skills
Excellent skills for any of the following programming language – C, C++, Python, MATLAB
Excellent skills for Microsoft offices (word, excel, ppt)
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
