Do you want to be a part of an tight team at an international company? As a material Planner you will play an important role where you will manage and optimize the raw and packaging material planning and to minimize supply chain costs within operational constraints. The work is done in close cooperation with collegues and suppliers. Please reply a.s.a.p since the position will be filled as soon as we find the right person!
Key responsibilities
Within this context you 'own' the raw and packaging material planning for the assigned plant and it's your responsibility to ensure material availability. This involves managing and reviewing requirement plans for materials. You also review MRP outputs to ensure adherence to MOQs and inventory targets. You monitor PO processes, ensure POs are created, approved, sent to suppliers in time. In addition, you follow up on open POs, expedite POs within the lead times, and maintain open POs in SAP, ensuring correct expected delivery dates.
This requires you to work with the suppliers and planning teams to ensure that supplier capabilities are understood and respected.
At all times you identify and drive actions to continuously improve working capital reduction, materials availability and supplier performance. This involves the use of best practice technology and to support SAP users to ensure efficient and effective use of the SAP P2P system.
You communicate with the procurement department about supply issues and ensure purchasing master data, such as purchase info records and source lists are maintained and updated by the P2I department timely.
Example of main activities:
* Agree on a Material Supply plan with the Production Planners and site.
* Manage the Material planning exception messages in accordance with S&OP rules.
* Review Supplier performance propose improvement initiatives
* Promotes effective relationships with the site & Suppliers
* Inputs to inventory strategy on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
* Handle demand exceptions, working with Scheduler, Production Planning and Procurement
* Monitor KPI's related to Stock, OWC, SLOB & drive actions to resolve issues and escalates to Material Planning Manager when needed
* Support/lead implementation of projects related to service/cost/inventory
* Handle raw material and packaging export orders to other AkzoNobel sites
Who are you?
Background:
* University degree in Business, Logistics or Science and/or a certificate in Purchasing Management/Diploma in Business Studies/Production Control (APICS) and/or at least two years of international experience procurement and/or planning within a high-volume manufacturing environment
* Solid understanding of warehouse flows, stock principles, and the ways in which these and related activities can be improved. Knowledge of SAP.
* Team player with excellent communication and analytical skills
* Stress resistant, problem-solving minded and no 9-5 mentality.
* Some financial understanding and experience is an advantage, as is knowledge of paint manufacturing processes, products, procedures and policies
* Fluent written and spoken English, other languages would be advantageous
