Thule Group is now looking for a Material Requirements Specialist, to strengthen our Product Compliance team within R&D.
The position is based at our Global Product Development Center in Hillerstorp (preferably) or at our newly opened R&D branch in Malmö. If you are based in Malmö you are expected to regularly spend time at our site in Hillerstorp.
As Material Requirements Specialist, you will be responsible for making sure that the products are safe and sustainable, and that materials used meet both Thule Group and regulatory requirements.
You will work together with product development, purchasing, and quality departments to define materials that will be used in future products across all categories. This is a global role which means you will interact with colleagues around the world, and with suppliers representing all material categories.
Selection of tasks that the job entails:
Act as subject matter expert internally on questions related to material use and substance compliance
Ensure that new materials used in products are compliant towards internal RSL (Restricted Substances List) and external regulatory requirements
Maintain contact and drive initiatives with external parties such as research institutions, government agencies, and industry groups, with relation to substance compliance
Monitor trends and upcoming regulations, providing feedback as to how they may affect Thule Group
Coordinate with quality department to conduct compliance evaluations and substance screening tests
Manage due diligence efforts with suppliers across categories such as outdoor and automotive.
Support Thule Groups sustainability efforts by driving use of safe and environmentally friendly materials.

Your Profile:
You should be self-motivated, have an eye for details, and enjoy working in fast-paced dynamic environments. Being passionate about quality, sustainability, and safety is highly desirable along with a business acumen in mind.
To be successful in this role you should have the following experience and qualifications:
Academic degree in engineering or physical science, preferably in area of materials / chemistry / textiles / environmental engineering or similar discipline
You have previous work experience within product development or compliance
Prior knowledge of regulations such as REACH, RoHS, or IMDS is favourable
Experience from processing or manufacturing of materials is also a bonus
Fluency in English – both written and oral
