About you
You are a passionate engineer with motivation and at least 5 years? experience in plastic products and production. You have good knowledge about plastic production process and able to make drawings. You have experience of leading projects in complex environment. You have knowledge in:
-Plastic product requirements and compliance
-Simulation software and CAD
-Product risk analysis for plastic products
-Standards and test procedures for plastic.

About the job
As a Material & Technology Engineer you perform analysis, secure drawings and drive conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations. You are a good communicator in English, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way.

About the assignment
As a Material & Technology Engineer you initiate, lead and deliver all drawings and simulation for plastic products both for news and running range. You need to be able to share with the relevant stakeholders in purchasing and in the development team. You will also support the recycling and renewable plastic agenda.

Here are other tasks that you will have during this assignment:
- develop the part design in cooperation with development team, IKEA suppliers and mould makers.
- be the reference person for part design and construction across different development team
- Design suitable products to enable the implementation of renewable and recycled materials
- Design products for new and available technologies, aiming for high efficiency and Quality
- Re-engineers products for improvement
- Support compliance securing right material and specification and drawings
- Runs predictions (e.g. FEM and Mould flow analysis) and pre-calculations for plastic products
