About you
You are a passionate engineer with motivation and at least 5 years of experience in plastic products and production. You have good knowledge about production and Six sigma/lean tools and production processes. You can balance strategic long term view with clear business needs here and now. You have experience of leading projects in complex environment. You have knowledge in:

-the work of product requirements and compliance,
-in simulation software,
-in product risk analysis and
-in standards and test procedures.

About the job
As a Material & Technology Engineer you perform analysis and draw conclusions to support the right business decisions and implementations. You have a holistic view, always having Customer, Supplier, IKEA and quality, cost and sustainability development in mind. You like working in teams, build network, share knowledge and coach others. You are a good communicator in English, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way.

About the assignment
As a Material & Technology Engineer you initiate and lead material & technology development / improvement projects, continuously be updated on developments in the assigned specialist area (internal and external) and share to relevant stakeholders. You participate in Material & Innovation development projects for new materials & technologies in alignment with the HFB?s needs. Also, you are the speaking partner to purchasing teams and HFB?s to identify & use production and material potentials in the product development, with know-how in construction, material, production and technical platforms. Together with the development teams you secure an effective utilization and implementation of new materials and technologies in the product development process to achieve better quality and lower cost.

Here are other tasks that you will have during this assignment:
-Develop the part design during the PDP phase, in cooperation with HFB, IKEA suppliers and mould makers.
-Be the reference person for plastic manufacturing
-Design suitable products to enable the implementation of renewable and recycled materials
-Design products for new and available technologies, aiming for high efficiency and Quality
-Re-engineers products for "Overtag"
-Takes part in global projects according to specific project assignments.

Your main focus will be to :
-Develop together with HFB and suppliers, moulds for injection moulding, to enable efficiency, standardization and continuous improvements to enable quality and long life time.
-Define optimal production set up using the right and technologies adjusted to the need (investments, need, country, etc.)
-Keeps the relation with other internal stakeholders
-Maintain the IKEA's plastic mould know-how (Data base)
