Materials Development Engineer - R&D
Do you have experience in using equipment for analysis and characterization of materials? Do you like to interact with many different people and work with product development? If yes, and you like material science, especially in the area of steel, cemented carbide and PCD – this may be a job for you!
The R&D Materials Development team is responsible for research and development of materials for our products, mainly made of steel and cemented carbide. The team collaborates closely with other R&D teams, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Marketing. The team in Fagersta consists of 12 engineers and 5 technicians.
Global collaboration occurs with other Epiroc units, other companies, institutes and Universities. Now we are searching for a new member to join this competence team in Fagersta, Sweden.
About the position
If you have a passion for materials science and want to contribute to new sustainable products for our company, then this position may be of interest for you. In this position, you will play an important role, doing material investigations and characterization of different materials and a high focus will be on the product development. The team interacts closely with other functions and departments, both within Epiroc and externally. Participate in product development projects as resource. You also act as supervisor from the company’s side in collaborations with universities. In this position a part is writing reports, articles and patens.

To be successful in the role you are curious, self-driven and eager to deliver a good job done. In this position you interacts with many different people, therefore it is necessary that you are service-minded and like to collaborate with other individuals and teams. You also have a great passion for Materials science.
Your education is M.Sc in Materials Engineering or higher. Full proficiency in English both written and spoken, Swedish is an advantage. Great experience in using equipment for analysis and characterization of materials, especially cemented carbide, steel and PCD. Please describe in CV, level of skills for unique equipment’s.
