At Siemens Energy in Finspång, we are at the forefront of energy transition, developing and manufacturing gas turbines and industrial heat pumps. Our gas turbines are leading the adoption of green fuels, and our heat pumps enable the decarbonization of industrial heating and district heating. This rapid development brings significant challenges, especially for our gas turbine measurement systems. Now we are looking for a new Measurement Technology Development engineer!

As a Measurement Technology Development engineer you will work in the group responsible for the design and technological progress of the measurement’s methods applied on our products. During your working days, you will develop, support, and implement measurement system solutions for gas turbine technologies, independently drive problem solving tasks and their implementation, provide technical advice and support to colleagues in product development, manufacturing, and assembly, and participate in the installation, operation, and dismounting of the measurement systems under your responsibility.

How You’ll Make an Impact
* Validating all the new design concepts and developments applied on the final products on the market. The prototype design validation are conducted in our labs or on the engine test beds.
* Maintaining and developing measurement methods and systems to deliver continuous upgrades on Siemens Energy portfolio characterized by highly safe, reliable and efficient equipment.
* You first measurement areas of work will be connected to displacement measurements (capacitive measurements) and strain gauges.
* Support your colleagues in other measurement areas based on your knowledge, such as within electronics, measurement chains or software development for data storage management.
* Develop your competence and professional life within Siemens Energy’s different initiatives and opportunities.
* Meet interesting new people, locally and globally, while working and developing future energy generation solutions.

What You Bring
* Bachelor or higher within relevant areas connected with electronics and measurement technology
* Relevant work experience with electronics and measurement technology is desirable.
* Experience with measurement systems applied on industrial systems is also desirable.
* Good knowledge, both written and verbal, in English and Swedish is a demand due to close collaboration with workshop personnel.
* A curious mind with the dedication to learn and try out new things.

 

About the Team
The Measurement and Component Testing team is composed of 20 experienced and knowledgeable Test Technology Engineers and Measurement Technology Engineers. As part of the R&D department at Siemens Energy AB in Finspång, our test measurements and methods are always evolving to meet new design validation demands and new technology developments. We are responsible for validation of both full engine prototypes as component prototyping. We develop continuously new measurement methodology in collaboration with several suppliers to deliver the most accurate results for supporting Siemens Energy solutions into the energy market.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
