Arbetsbeskrivning
Right now, Sandvik Coromant is looking for an analytical, yet networking Measuring Engineer to join us in Gimo. Are you passionate about new technologies, driving change and using your knowledge and experience in creating structure and finding modern, successful ways of working? Then this might by your next challenge!
Gimo is a great place to work, just a short stop from cities like Uppsala, Stockholm and Gävle. Our production unit is an awarded lighthouse factory with major focus on sustainability. We’re also a market-leading manufacturer of products for metal cutting, and we employ over 1 400 brilliant minds. Development is in our DNA and we’re proud to create solutions that truly shape the future of manufacturing!
Your mission
As a Measuring Engineer, you’re part of a diverse team with broad knowledge of both manually operated measuring methods and new advanced technology. To successfully industrialize our products, we need accurate and relevant measuring methods, and this is where you play an important part. You analyze models of our inserts to understand how the features translate into a real manufacturing setting – what benefits and challenges occurs, what measuring methods can we use, and what total value will this bring to our offering? In addition, you scan the market for new trends and work closely together with our Product Management and R&D departments, as well as with external partners, to identify new technology and ways to improve and develop our work.
Our site in Gimo is a Product Technology Center for measuring methods from a global point of view, and we share both knowledge and best practices with other production units worldwide. In this role, you also take part in daily measuring activities in our production, provide ad hoc solutions across the organization and participate as technical measuring expert in various projects.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Engineering, along with experience from working with measuring technology and managing measuring equipment. You have a broad understanding of CAD, preferably Siemens NX, and you know how to analyze models, look at measuring characteristics and develop measuring methods. As we’re a global player, with local presence, you need good communication skills in both English and Swedish.
You balance your analytical skills with being a strong collaborator, and you enjoy a setting where you get to solve problems, identify improvements and share knowledge. You’re eager to look at new technology and want to develop within the measuring area, and you naturally strive for high quality and great results. Aiming to find the best solutions, you’re not afraid to challenge us to think creatively, and you communicate your message in a confident, structured and informative way that brings people on board.
We believe that diversity of experience, perspective and background leads to a successful business environment, and we’re looking forward to meeting you. Meanwhile, if you want to know more about Sandvik Coromant, we recommend a visit on our website, LinkedIn or Facebook page.
