We are now looking for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer to our team in Västerås.
We offer you the chance to be a part of a global environment, developing the next generation modularized world class robot platform. Together with an experienced team you will have a key role in balancing the requirement and the performance of the robot such as payload, reach, and cycle time from the early stages of the projects until final launch to the market. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other analysis and design engineers where you will contribute with design optimizations and recommendations based on calculation results, as well as contribution to development and refinement of calculation tools and design criteria. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team of experienced manipulator designers and calculation engineers.
The role reports to R&D Team Manager.
Your responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with design engineers, supply, and quality departments within the development projects and proposing solutions and optimizations for increased performance
Conducting or coordinating complex analyses and a range of engineering activities encompassing one or more of the disciplines load calculations, dynamic simulations, and structural analysis
Supporting the strategic technology direction and maintaining awareness of state-of-the-art technology and market trends
Applying scientific theories and technology concepts and new methodologies and technologies to projects and problems
Providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of tools, processes, and methods, and coordinating the calculation work in development and technology projects
Identifying customer value, developing and implementing creative ideas to improve operations and customer satisfaction
Your background
A MSc or PhD within Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Physics, with specialization in either Mechatronics, Solid Mechanics, Machine Elements or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience in structural analysis, multi-body simulations, or machine elements working as Mechanical Analysis Engineer
Experience of working in multibody simulation in Dymola or similar tool is an advantage
An interest in development of computational tools for example in Matlab, Python or VBA is a plus
A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, Swedish is considered an advantage
