Our Exciting Opportunity
We are strengthening our team within Mechanical Design and are looking for the next generation creative engineers who will make sure we stay technology leaders in the telecom industry. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a notable member of the team and participate in the design of ERS, Ericsson Radio System, products with focus on 5G radios. We develop an ever-increasing number of products where every generation delivers improved value to our customers, with top demands on quality and robustness in harsh outdoor environments. Our solutions must be cost efficient and as well have a low TCO, Total Cost of Ownership, and deliver top performance with regards to technology density (small and lightweight), usability and sustainability.
You will
In your role you will participate in pre-development where we study overall and detailed aspects of technology to come and as well be a member of product development projects. Some of your responsibilities will be performed individually, but most of them will be in cross-disciplinary teams both locally and globally. You typically interact with other technical disciplines such as Thermal, Interconnect, PBA (Printed Board Assembly), Industrial Design as well as mechanical suppliers/partners (DfM, Design for Manufacturing) and Ericsson’s global production organization (DfA, Design for Assembly).
Responsibilities
Mechanical design, using MCAD tool Creo, of 5G Telecom Equipment Enclosures (mainly Radio products) e.g. aluminum die casted, plastic injection molded, sheet metal designs
Deliver designs that is top performing with regards to in-field robustness, cost efficiency, technology density (small and lightweight), electro-mechanical design (EMC, PIM), usability, modularity and sustainability
Pre-development work to secure technical leadership with a 2-5 year horizon
Execution development project work
Individual tasks as well as interaction in cross disciplinary design teams, both locally + globally and internally + externally
To be successful in the role you must have
Be Creative, innovative and eager to learn
Good communicator and can express yourself fluently in English (Swedish is highly desirable), both orally and in writing.
MCAD tool experience, preferably Creo
Genuine interest in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in die casting / injection molding design, DfM, DfA
