The Digital Buildings Business of Schneider Electric provides Intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently. As a critical part of this building ecosystem we also provide solutions for fire detection and monitoring of fire detection systems installations.
What we are looking for:
Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role as Mechanical Design & Change Owner Engineer to our BMS and Fire Detection Hardware solutions in Lund, Sweden.
In this role you will be responsible for design and requirements for various products within running range and new development. This includes 3D modeling, drawings, requirements specification, prototype ordering, test planning, output coordination, review and release to market / manufacturer, handle quality and optimizations etc.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead change management and release control process
• Design products using CAD, and consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure feasibility
• Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function
• Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance, and efficiency standards
• Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when require.
• Leading role in brand-label projects and secure proper documentation, labeling, markings etc.
• Build and manipulate the product structure bill of materials (BOM) for assemblies and do configurations management of product variants.
Required skills and experiences:
• Previous experience as a Design Engineer or a similar role
• Proven experience using CAD software; knowledge of Creo is a plus
• Good understanding of standards and environmental impact of a design
• Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
• Great computational and spatial ability
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Attention to detail
• Hands on mechanical and technical skills
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
