Mechanical Design Engineer

Enerpoly develops and manufactures zinc-ion batteries to deliver breakthrough affordability in stationary energy storage. The patented technology using globally abundant zinc and manganese is also a safer, cleaner, and scalable solution. Founded in 2018, Enerpoly is headquartered at Stockholm, and brings the best of Swedish design and sustainability to the energy storage industry.
We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Stockholm, Sweden. You will have a significant role in delivering Enerpoly’s zinc-ion battery to the market and bring the world closer to 100% renewable energy.
You will work closely with our Product Development team and support in product and product ion line designs, prototyping and scaling of Enerpoly batteries. The position requires industrial work experience including practical and theoretical troubleshooting. You are used to high standards and have direct or indirect experience with battery manufacturing. You exhibit a can-do attitude, and you approach problems with vigor and determination. You are expected to demonstrate versatility and possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Mechanical product and process design, including parts and assemblies
- Hands on prototype building and prototype development
- Drive for continuous improvements in design and manufacturing
- Facilitate technical problem solving and manufacturing implementation of production lines and product designs
- Analysis and optimization of battery manufacturing processes
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanical or industrial design engineering context
- Experience with user-focused design and knowledge of human factors and ergonomics
- Experience with prototype development, testing and design validation process
- Experience with design tools such as SolidWorks, Creo and/or AutoCad
- Experience with manufacturing processes and manufacturing line design and operation
- Preferably has experience in battery design and battery manfuacturing
- Excellent oral and written English language skills are required
