Let's introduce ourselves

The group 93810, Airbags & Steering wheels, is part of the Occupant Safety department within the unit Vehicle Tophat. The group’s responsibility is to develop all airbag applications and steering wheels and we are primarily working with Full-Service Suppliers (FSS) which normally have a global footprint. There is also an engineering team in Shanghai (PDS) with which we have close cooperation, even though they are not part of our group

We are now looking for an experienced Concept Design Engineer who would like to contribute to the development of our future safety products towards our world leading goals. As a person you see possibilities and solutions instead of problems and difficulties.
What you’ll do
 You will be developing e.g., engineering template, early concept solutions, sourcing support, project support and guideline updates.
You will work in a collaborative way together with all the Engineering teams within relevant areas and secure deliveries according to valid backlog.
You will take part in Team planning and define & plan your tasks. Product Owner to approve and if needed prioritize objectives and planning. You will perform the allocated timed tasks towards delivering according to the deadlines.
Experience and Background

* Self-driven team players with mindset to deliver high quality results.
* Technical university degree (or equivalent knowledge from practical experience).
* High skill level in Catia V5 & Teamcenter required.
* High skill level in Engineering Templates
* Team oriented approach with the ability to communicate and implement innovative ideas
* Ability to analyse information and proposed solutions and to determine if the design proposals are feasible.
* Fully knowledgeable and able to work independently in Volvos Product Development Processes, Systems and Tools and according to VCC Engineering Collaboration Framework
* Secure data in all relevant systems
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
