For over 30 years, our customer has delivered semiconductor solutions that drive the capabilities of voice, enterprise, broadband and wireless communications. Our customer employs approximately 700 people globally. Their customers include all major OEM brands in this sector. Our customer is located in Sweden, Stockholm. Their products are divided into two major groups - Optical and ULP, Ultra Low Power. Optical Products develops innovative optical solutions for high-bandwidth interconnect, industrial, security, military and avionics markets. The company's highly integrated, standard-based and custom optical products are known for their reliability and flexibility. The manufacturing of optical products is shared between in-house assembly and test facilities and off-shore manufacturing solutions. The ULP Products Group is a leading supplier of customized ICs, digital signal processors and RF chips for cardiac pacemakers and hearing aids. Their new ultra low-power RF(radio frequency) platform is driving a range of advanced healthcare products, including the world's only swallow able camera capsule, as well as battery-powered, wireless communication devices. Within the product development group at our customers Semiconductor Optical Products Group you will work with design of hardware and manufacturing tools for fibre optic communication devices. Job profile: You will be part of a team that includes electrical engineering, software development, test and measurement development and also assembly process development. Together, the team navigates all the way from a concept idea to a fully manufacturable product solution. As the work primarily focuses on small devices with high tolerance levels we do appreciate deep knowledge in commonly used manufacturing methodologies such as milling, lathe, high precision etching, stamping, die casting, injection molding etc. We also appreciate if you have a basic knowledge in the RoHS directive. Today the Mechanical Design Engineer uses Autodesk Inventor as primary 3D CAD tool and we require 3D modelling on every design. Qualifications: We believe that the person applying for the jobb needs several years of experience in mechanical design and also has an academic background or equivalent experience to be able to mix theoretical and practical skills. Importantly, this person is used to 3D model design in order to avoid any compatibility issues with surrounding features, debugging the design before the manufacturing phase has been initiated. Experience in Autodesk Inventor is preferred but not a requirement. Experience in some form of Autodesk is though required.
