Are you our new Mechanical Design Engineer?
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who together with us will develop the IKEA product offer. Come and join me, Vendula and my amazing team in Älmhult!

Within BA Textile, Collections and Social entrepreneurs we are now looking for someone who will lead the mechanical design development within textile and window products. You will work in a team with designer, project leader, requirement specialist. Everything we do is based on a spirit of togetherness, curiosity and enthusiasm.
In this recruitment, we are looking for someone who has a strong drive, who takes initiatives and are used to drive your own agenda. You like to work in team constellation and to collaborate with a wide network of colleagues.
Your main tasks will be to develop, document and maintain the digital 3D models and 2D drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances according to IKEA CAD Standards. To be the main contact with IKEA of Sweden prototype department and to drive the implementation of Digital Product Development, DPD.
If you have experience from working with textile, it´s meritorious but equally important is that you are curious and eager to learn about the characteristics of different materials.

You have good experience in product development, handling different kind of materials and production methods. Knowledge of SolidWorks and an experience working with plastic and metal will be considered as an added advantage.
As a person you have a genuine and practical technical interest, who knows how to make things happen. Furthermore, you have strong communication skills and the ability to create good relations build on trust. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and you therefore need to be fluent in English both verbal and in written.
