Arbetsbeskrivning
We have a new IKEA direction with many opportunities within our reach and we are taking next steps together to set ourselves up for success. Over the next few years, all of us need to be better than ever. We will strengthen the core of what we do in Range & Supply.
The product range – our identity and Range & Product Engineering is one of the most important enablers to ensure that we live up to the IKEA vision.
The Product Engineering organisation enables, thru innovation and together with other organisations, us to live up to and strengthen our democratic design and thereby support the development of better homes and better products.
BA Bedroom is a stable and successful business since many years. To secure a future as successful as the past we are in a complete business transformation in home furnishing for both storage and sleep. Most things remain to be done - is more relevant than ever!
If this excites you, you are the one we are looking for.
Right now, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who together with us will
strengthen the IKEA product offer.
You are an important contributor in the creation of our new products and solutions to deliver the best customer experience and quality, at the lowest costs. You take a stand in important matters and you are willing to challenge known patterns.
You will be responsible for:
Develop the mechanical design of products with different materials and functions in the bedroom range, from concept sketch to final product
To apply IKEA’s Shared Solutions, standard components and materials
To secure that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the product design
To develop, document and maintain the digital 3D models and 2D drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances according to IKEA CAD Standards
To evaluate constructions with Calculations and (FEM) simulations together with our in-house FEA-experts before testing on prototypes
To be the main contact with IKEA of Sweden prototype department
