About us
At Engineering & Operations (E&O) you will be a key contributor to the next generation of outstanding luxury BEV vehicles from Volvo Cars. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people.
Our group 97720, Inverter CPL & Mech and PCBA, consists of 2 teams and about 20 engineers; we are now looking to reinforce the Mech and PCBA team.
Our vision is “Leading in electrification” by contributing to world class efficiency in future products.

What you will do
As a Design Engineer in the Mech and PCBA team, you will work as a component responsible for mechanical subcomponents in the Inverter.
You will take ownership of your parts, lead and drive suppliers which includes leading technical design reviews, internal and supplier joint reviews and follow up on verification activities.
You will also work with component design and integration in CATIA.
Your tasks will also include Cost engineering, benchmarking, and reporting status/progress together with Quality Assurance disciplines such as FMEA.

A close co-operation within the team and across Vehicle Propulsion is crucial, to enable the future implementation of the most desirable Electric Axle Drives.
This role also includes agile way of working co-operation, within team and with backlog deliverables, related to each program increment (PI), to reach established and agreed team targets and solutions.

You and your skills
You have a university degree within Mechanical Engineering or similar.
You have experience in product development and a high understanding of development phases from initial concept to final delivery.
You will also need skills in CATIA or equivalent 3D modelling tool.
Experience from HPDC (high pressure die casting) process is a merit.
