We are looking for a mechanical designer who is eager to learn and want to develop the world's most modern submarine.

Your role

As an outfitting designer you will spend the majority of your time in our CAD-environment developing equipment layouts and detailed designs of mechanical components. However, the role also include other design tasks such as requirement analysis and hands on construction support at the shipyard in Karlskrona. You will also participate in improvement of our design methodology, company processes and general ways of working.



Main tasks:

* Prepare and review equipment layouts in 3D-CAD
* Prepare and review designs and drawings for manufacturing
* Analyze requirements and plan your design work


The role include frequent travels to our shipyard in Karlskrona.


Your profile

You are at the beginning of your career and have a genuine interest in the field of mechanical design and looking for an opportunity to grow as a mechanical designer. Due to the complexity of technical and legal requirements, you need high skills in how to organize and absorb vast amounts of information from senior colleagues, guidelines, reports and databases and you are comfortable conveying information verbally as well as in writing. Furthermore, you quickly combine new skills and product development knowledge into creative and viable solutions. You will interact with many colleagues and stakeholders, why you need to enjoy and have the ability to collaborate.


Required skills:

* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* High communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written


Desired skills:

* Experience in Creo Parametric and Windchill
* Workshop experience e.g. CNC-milling, welding, machinery assembly.
* Pipe routing in Creo Parametric
* Driving license


This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.



What you will be a part of

This is an opportunity to be part of a devoted team of innovative submarine designers! The design department Outfitting consists of four sections responsible for the arrangement of equipment onboard submarines and surface ships. You will collaborate with knowledgeable engineers and professionals within a number of engineering disciplines. Together we create an environment where we share our knowledge and experience, not only within the team but also throughout the organization. Our section consists of 15 designers in Malmö and Helsingborg.
