Mechanical Designer

The strategic business unit Retail technology is looking for a new team member to the R&D department in Jönköping. We are looking for dedicated and skilled individuals in Mechanical engineering and Product development.

About the position
As a mechanical designer at ITAB you will be part of the next generation of retail technology products and will work with products in areas of checkout arena, customer guidance and digital solutions.

You will have the opportunity to work on exciting project and be met by qualified and challenging assignments that include all parts of the development chain.

You will have an important role of the execution of projects to enable new products to be produced and put on the market.

The team is also responsible for the quality and maintenance throughout the complete lifetime of our products.

This role will include
Work with mechanical engineering, investigation, documentation, CAD connected to the execution of future product assortment projects

- Execution of investment project

- Produce technical data and solutions
- Present designs to clients, engineers and production teams
- Test physical prototypes under various conditions, and make adjustments as needed
- Continuously work with improvements on our products, review and update existing designs


Personal profile
To be successful in this position we believe you are a strong problem solver and make things happen and take decisions with a structured approach. You can work effectively in and with team(s) and find a network around the organization.

We believe you have an engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline or an equivalent combination - of education and experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Mechanical engineering in a product development business.

You are an experienced user of SolidWorks.

Excellent oral and written English and Swedish skills are mandatory. Knowledge of other languages may be meritorious.

Since the role is at the global level in an international environment, close dialogues with international colleagues are required. Expect travel to our company sites. The home base is in Jönköping.
