Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer (Heat exchange) to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Design innovative components and systems for converting nuclear energy into steam and electricity.
Develop a high-temperature steam generator to advance the reactor island design.
Optimize the turbine island design by creating components and systems for efficient cooling, condensing, and superheating.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to bring these designs to life.
Conduct feasibility studies and assess the viability of various steam generator concepts.
Lead in designing, analyzing, and optimizing components and systems primarily focused on heat exchange functions, including steam generators, superheaters, and condensers.
Enhance the design process by providing insights into the operation, failures, and maintenance of these components and systems.
Perform simulations and calculations to ensure that steam generators and heat exchange equipment meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to heat exchange components, particularly steam generators.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with thermal functions.
Establish testing and validation routines for components and systems.
Stay updated with the latest advancements and apply best practices to design.
Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations.

What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years of specialized experience in thermal engineering, particularly in engineering components with a heat exchange function.
Familiarity with nuclear power systems, safety principles, and experience in thermal power plants, chemical, or petrochemical industries is advantageous.
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for components.
Proficiency in engineering software and simulation tools necessary for component development.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for innovative problem-solving.
Fluent in spoken and written English; fluency in Swedish is a plus.
