We are looking for development engineers to our Global R&D function, Power Wheelchair Development.

The departments in Power Wheelchair Development are responsible for delivering attractive designs with new technical solutions at high end quality. We also support our production sites and other departments when our expertise is needed. As a mechanical development engineer, you will be working in cross functional teams with people putting their heart and soul into their work, to give our users the products they deserve.

Your role - Key responsibilities
As a mechanical development engineer, you will play your role in the team and contribute to the work needed. It can vary from finding the root cause of a quality issue, executing a design change needed to stop a quality issue or inventing technical solutions that gives people better life when using our products. In addition to this, you are expected to contribute in our continuous work in developing our processes and procedures in our endless journey to be an even better supplier of the world’s greatest power wheelchair to anyone who needs it.

As Permobil is a medical device company we value your ability to work with technical requirements traceable to user needs and can prove that the design performs as intended. You document this in easy to read plans and reports that complies with internal and external regulations.

Depending in your seniority you will lead and mentor others in their pursuit of improving as development engineers. If you are in the beginning of your career there are good development opportunities.

Your profile - Qualifications
To be a successful development engineer at Permobil you are structured and have analytical problem-solving skills. We believe that you hold a MSc in Mechanical engineering or equivalent together with a few years of working experience. You can communicate with people in different levels of hierarchy and nationality, in written and face to face, our business language is English. You have experience from 3D CAD but can also work with requirements, risk analysis and product life cycle questions. Experience from the medical device area or automotive industry is considered an advantage.
