Engineering & Supply, High Speed Separators, at Alfa Laval, Tumba, is responsible for executing customer projects for the global Food and Life Science industry. Our goal is to be a competitive project organization, delivering systems that ensure optimization of our customers processes.
About the job
To carry out mechanical engineering activities on standardization and customer projects professionally and to the customers' expectations. You will work in close collaboration with the project team, Alfa Laval workshop and with our customers, and you will be responsible for the design, drafting, quality checks and assembly of our systems based on the latest industry standards. The work involves:
Preparation of technical specifications and other documents of the project, e.g. P&ID, component list, 3D design of piping systems and manufacturing drawings.
Cooperate with builders and suppliers.
Review, update and maintain drawings, as well as technical calculations and verifications.
Together with the team carry out selection of components and solutions based on customer requests and applicable standards and codes, perform mechanical tests, documentation, and issue tracking.
Deliver input to improve current technical solutions and / or develop new solutions to ensure our competitive advantage.
Who you are
You are curious and creative, contribute with ideas and new perspectives and have a genuine interest in technology and to test new approaches and learn new things. You are motivated by acting problem-solving and have the interest and ability to immerse yourself in complex problems. You are used to working closely with your team, are self-motivated with good self-leadership skills and have an interest in both the big picture and the details. You have a genuine interest in technology, product development and system/P&ID design, with the ability to see the connection between product development and use. You will work closely with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical and automation engineers, but also project managers and quality professionals. As such, you enjoy both the technical expertise and testing your work in real life. Besides that, we expect you to have:
An academic degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Few years of experience from piping design and have a good understanding of different systems, materials, piping standards etc.
Experience of working with AutoCad, Cadison or other CAD-software.
Experience from food, life science or other process industry is meritorious.
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
