Position title: Mechanical Engineer & Product Owner
Who are we, your new colleagues? What is our offer to you?
We are a dedicated group of engineers within the R&D department providing technical and functional solutions for our products, customers and special projects. We are networking and collaborating with our own production unit, sub suppliers, sales team and customers in order to accomplish the absolute best results together. You will find yourself in an environment with experienced engineers having a solid background in creating and developing solutions for this type of machinery.

Role description
As a Mechanical Engineer and Product Owner, you will manage, develop and maintain a number of products from the CEES portfolio. With a solid base knowledge in Mechanical Engineering you will be able to widen this role to develop a great knowledge and understanding of the certain products, the requirements and its application and in that context be able to have a leading role in the product maintenance needed and development projects connected with the product. You will work close to the Market department to evaluate and analyze new customer requests and together with product planning you will create plans for future generations. You will have a supporting role towards purchasing, production and aftermarket.
Summarized you will get a unique holistic view of all the necessary efforts needed to bring your product to the market combined with a great understanding of challenges and requirements when in usage by the customers.
New technologies, like electrification and autonomous machines, will challenge us to find and integrate new systems and components into our products, either by ourselves or in close co-operation with other colleagues and companies within Volvo CE.


Who are you?
Well, we don’t know yet. But to succeed we claim that you need to be structured, accurate and curious. Further you see things that need to be done before they have even occurred and are comfortable to take own initiatives to solve such situations. You have also a high positive energy level which you always try to transfer to your colleagues. If you also are an out-of-the-box thinker and like to combine that with a strong drive to succeed keeping project & product goals inside the main box-frame, then you´ll be a perfect fit!


We also believe you have:
At least a BS degree towards Mechanical Engineering or similar.
At least 5-10 years’ experience in designing and developing mechanical system solutions for heavy mobile vehicles.
Use to work in close cooperation with Electrical and Hydraulic Engineers.
Experience from working with Construction Equipment Machines as excavators or articulated haulers is very beneficial.
Fluent in Swedish as well as English, verbally and in written.
Knowledge in Inventor or similar system is an advantage.
Interest in customers and applications and bringing the best available products into the market.
A strong will to develop further in this role.
