Position Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer at our client you will play a critical role in innovating and developing modern, high-quality mechanical product solutions. This position emphasizes conceptualizing, designing, and industrializing new mechanical components for our advanced product line-up. This role requires a high-impact contributor with strong experience in mechanical engineering and familiarity with sheet metal, machining, extrusion, or injection molding.
Key Responsibilities
Product Innovation and Concept Development
Design and innovate modern, forward-looking mechanical products, providing a futuristic vision for the product line.
Assist in roadmap planning for new product releases to align with company goals.
Create, estimate costs, and develop project plans for new mechanical concepts, improving current products to meet future business needs.
3D Design and Prototyping
Design detailed concepts using 3D mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo) and prepare necessary models, drawings, and materials for prototyping, pilot testing, and mass production.
Develop initial prototypes and convert them into functional models.
Production and Industrialization
Industrialize prototypes to ensure they are ready for production, streamlining manufacturing and assembly.
Create bills of materials (BOM), source suppliers, and develop cost matrices for components.
Testing and Quality Assurance
Develop and implement test scripts to adhere to global quality standards for electronic security systems.
Collaborate with suppliers and customers to integrate products with third-party solutions.
Documentation and ERP Management
Maintain and update the ERP system with BOMs, component details, suppliers, and costs.
Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and keep relevant documentation up-to-date.
International Collaboration and Travel
Attend international meetings with customers and third-party stakeholders to support sales efforts, provide technical expertise, or install prototype or pilot products.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
Relevant experience in the development of mechanical parts, especially with sheet metal, machining, extrusion, and injection molding.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with CAD tools, especially SolidWorks and Creo.
Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with JIRA and Microsoft Dynamics Navision is preferred.
Soft Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a forward-thinking, innovative mindset.
Excellent documentation abilities for technical specifications and product documentation.
