NKT is currently expanding our offshore engineering team and are offering a unique opportunity to join one of the leading suppliers of the largest and most complex submarine cable projects.
Play a key role driving our projects from start to finish
As part of our offshore engineering department you will be surrounded by collages within various offshore engineering disciplines. The engineers are deployed in project teams that are responsible for the preparation of complex projects from start to finish.
NKT’s offshore engineering department is highly versatile and regardless of the competences you hold at the moment you will be given the opportunity to broaden your engineering and project management competences.
You will be a part of a highly skilled team, based in Sweden and Netherlands, placed in Karlskrona or Malmö, working with and coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors. Regular travel to NKT’s offices in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and project sites are included.
Your primary tasks will be:
• Be part of vessel engineering operations for our own vessel NKT Victoria and other CLVs which includes; support with back deck design, vessel mobilization, development of new tools and equipment, integrating existing equipment into back deck designs
• Follow up and drive project planning and deliverables
• Develop procedures and other technical documentation for projects and tender and/or follow up on documentation produced by internal and external resources
• Support smaller development and investment projects to help expand NKT’s offshore installation capabilities and competitiveness
• Communicate with offshore vessel crew during planning and conceptual design
• Determine most suitable technically solutions and methods in the tender and project phases, both from a technical, commercial and QHSE perspective
• There will be opportunities to go offshore in some projects
• Support smaller development and investment projects to help expand NKT’s offshore installation capabilities and competitiveness

In addition to that you have a strong understanding of the challenges and associated risks involved when working with offshore construction projects.
Additionally, your CV comprises:
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering
• 2-5 years’ experience from offshore projects
• Calculation experience
• Experience of subcontractor follow up and work package delivery. i.e. following up on design, testing and delivery
• Experience from power cable installation, trenching of flexible products, back deck engineering on construction vessels and shallow water operations/construction is beneficial
• Design and drafting skills and experience from e.g. AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS
• Proficiency in English, Swedish and Dutch are meritorious
