We are expanding our team and looking for you with technical skills and interest in being responsible for one (or several) systems within the area of Ventilation, Cooling Water and active Fire Extinguishing systems onboard submarines. You could say that we work with the lungs and blood circulation of the submarine - all systems on board are affected by our systems!
Your role
In this role, you will be involved in the entire development of a submarine from request to final tests. The concept of a Mechanical Systems Engineer with us include but are not limited to, the roles that other companies sometimes describes as "Project Engineer" and " System Architect". You will be the spider in the web with full support from different specialists, creating the system architecture from the requirement and function analysis, refine and follow the system throughout the whole Systems Engineering process and in the end verify the functionality onboard the submarine. You will be the specialist for your systems, working with them in several different projects and products, making high demands on your ability to handle many issues ongoing at the same time.
The main tasks are:
* Develop and ensure functionality for one or several systems onboard submarine
* Analyze requirements, and define system and make calculations.
* Handle stakeholders internally and externally
* Involvement in the procurement process
* Perform system tests and verification onboard submarines
The position requires some travel during test and commissioning phase of the project.
Your profile
We are looking for you with broad mechanical knowledge, can practice self-leadership and who will enjoy the role as a "go to person" within your system and area of expertise. To succeed you need to be a problem solver who can balance highly technical solutions with the unbeatable operational reliability of a hand maneuvered valve. You are interested in solving complex problems with simple methods. The role include handling influences from internal and external stakeholders as well as much collaboration with colleagues why you need high communicative skills.
Required skills:
* Master in Mechanical Engineering
* Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
* Experience in Systems Engineering process/HVAC-(Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), cooling water-, fire extinguishing systems
* Experience of procurement interactions and complex projects
* Having worked with commissioning and verification tests
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
What you will be a part of
You will be part of the section "Environment and Water System" where we develop about 30 systems like Air purification and monitoring, ventilation, cooling water, fire extinguishing and sanity systems. Our team consist of approx. 15 highly skilled mechanical engineers, a helpful bunch of people who like to have fun at work and who are looking forward to welcoming you to the section!
