The role

We offer a varied job together with skilled and committed colleagues. Your responsibilities will include to test and validate our products. The main focus is mechanical tests of strength properties, but adhesives, weather protection, and assembly methods may also be included. As Test Engineer you will be a core member in Movions’s product development team. We are a tight knit group, and you will work together with our founders, business team and production team. As our company evolves, your role, responsibilities and deliverables might change with it. Tasks will include:

• Lead the test activities to facilitate greater understanding of the material properties of the wooden structure, sub-components, and complete system.
• Produce test samples that provides good representation for a proper test.
• Plan, carry out, and document short and long-term tests of Modvion’s constructions.
• Manage suppliers of test equipment and 3rd party test institutes to enable the efficient execution of test activities both internally and externally.
• Prepare test procedures, analyse test data, and write test reports to clearly communicate the objectives, methods, and results of test campaigns.

We’re looking for…

Someone with passion for wooden materials and probably a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant engineering discipline. You should have a couple of years of engineering experience, preferable as a test engineer. Solid knowledge of test methodologies used for wooden, or composites structures is a great advantage. Your engineering theories come into practice when you enter a workshop, you are familiar with standard tools and you also need knowledge of different instrumentation methods, good report writing skills, familiarity with CAD packages and data processing experience in Excel or similar software packages.

As a person you are supportive and handy, enjoying working in team. You perform your tasks in an accurate and structured way while addressing uncertainties and change with an open and flexible mind. You also use your curiosity to extend our solid knowledgebase in what can be achieved by using wood in new ways.
