Job description
Responsible for development of mechatronics solutions in restrain products and systems.
Develop new and maintain existing products.
Define requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and control of product and systems.
Run project to the development process of Autoliv and our customers in cooperation with our global organization.
Location at Autoliv Sweden in Vårgårda and reporting to the Advanced Engineering manager.

Typical deliverables:
" Generate technical solutions for current and new projects
" Perform design analysis of mechatronics solutions
" Work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programs
" Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products

Additionally
" Synthesis and development of advanced mechanical/electronic hardware/software, including the integration of sensors and actuators in occupant safety related projects
" Determine optimum architectures to meet prescribed product objectives
" Improve the efficiency and performance of existing architectures and algorithms
" Assess the effectiveness of proposed systems through both mathematical analysis and experiments/simulations

Personal Qualifications:
" Creativity and originality are involved as well as some independent judgment.

Professional Qualifications:
" Specific knowledge of engineering mechanics, electronics hardware development and software such as C++, Visual Basic and Simulink
" Demonstrated technical skills in automotive safety related area required
" Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
" Experience in sensors application and sensor fusion algorithms and implementation in hardware and software level
" Experience in simulation and knowledge of mechanical design software such as CATIA V5 or Solid works
" High level of oral and written communication skills in English
" Familiarity with development and production processes for mechanical and electronic products
" High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

Required
" Masters or higher degree in mechanical/electrical engineering with concentration in automotive mechatronics
