IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA retail channels with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduces 2,000 new products in the 424 IKEA stores and other multichannel touchpoints around the world. The total range is almost 10,000 products. So what happens in Älmhult definitely doesn't stay in Älmhult. It reaches practically every corner of the globe.

One of these areas is Marketing & Communication where the focus is on strategic development of the IKEA product and range marketing and communication, brand building communication as well as communication to the many people inside and outside of IKEA. It´s about sharing what we do and why we do it to create engagement and build curiosity and trust for the IKEA brand. Media Relations and Newsdesk Team at IKEA Range and Supply is an important contributor in realising this work.
In the Media Relations and Newsdesk Team you work in a global context with both planned and unplanned PR and editorial content. The team plays a central part in identifying stories and angles, develop content and share communication around how IKEA Range and Supply develops and supplies its products and range. We support the business and all IKEA markets with proactive content, incoming requests and advice when IKEA is being challenged.
Job Description
We are looking for a Media- and Visit Specialist who will work closely together with the Press Officers, but with the main task to act first point of contact for all incoming media requests, handle media monitoring and statistics around some of our owned media channels as well as support in handling content and questions related to our social media channels.
As a Media- & Visit Specialist you are in charge of leading the request process, documenting and categorizing. Besides acting as first point of contact for all media requests and strategic media visits to Range & Supply, you work closely with and is the link to the Marketing & Communication Intelligence team (in M&C Design) to contribute to and ensure measurement of PR according to the long term plan. Together with the other Media and Visit Specialist, you ensure that Range & Supply has the required content about how IKEAs Range is developed and supplied and secure availability of correct content around Range & Supply to all IKEA spokespersons globally.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role we believe that you have knowledge of public relations and the media landscape (owned, paid) and with deep knowledge in earned media. In order to work with global media monitoring and support the daily work with our social media channels, you have an interest and basic knowledge in both theses fields. You also need a strong understanding of how communication affects stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand and a capability to judge messaging for external communication.
You are fluent in English and it is needless to say that you have an excellent ability to communicate verbally, and in writing in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice.
