As the company is rapidly expanding the Global PR and Communications Team is in need of support. Today we are looking for a Media Relations and Crisis/Reputation Management Expert with global experience.



The role is based at Polestar’s global headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you'll do

- Take lead on crisis communications and guide the company’s communication through turbulent times. Brief executives ahead of media announcements and also act as spokesperson

- Develop and maintain the awareness, consideration and positive perception of the Polestar brand, as well as defend its corporate reputation, with journalists, influencers and other key stakeholders.

- Develop media relationships and maintain relationship building, targeting, pitching, sell-in, etc. with media audiences

- Keep a close dialogue with international media, ensuring they are up to date with the company, whether it is the automotive-, business-, design-, tech- sustainability- or lifestyle-press.

- Coordinate media outreach with markets and agencies ahead of big releases

- Organise interviews with media and key stakeholders and support them during interviews

- Create and develop communication plans, Q&A, briefing documents, press releases, etc. for planned activities, targeting relevant media groups.

- Assist in managing Polestar’s external communication editorial calendar to ensure consistent flow of Polestar news and editorial opportunities

- Support the global heads of Public Relations and Communications to develop and implement strategy and budget plans that support the global corporate goals.

- Coordinate with other Polestar global- and regional PR and Communications team members, and the global Brand and Marketing team, to design, develop and implement content and media strategies that represent the company’s products, services, brand, industrial operations, business plan and strategy, and senior management.

- Monitor and evaluate media coverage in order to act upon learnings and consequences, as well as prepare for crisis communications.

- Completion of all planned projects by reaching targeted KPIs, within budget.

Key audiences are Polestar’s external stakeholders such as: journalists and influencers, local and national government, business partners, investors, potential and existing customers, potential and existing employees, and trade associations.



Who you are

10 years plus working experience in Public Relations and Communications, and at least 5 years with a large multinational corporation. Experience of working with global stakeholders (press and others) is an absolute requirement.

Documented experience of crisis management in a global organisation

Strong network and experience from working with a wide array of global the automotive-, business-, design-, tech- sustainability- or lifestyle-press.

Experience working with, and managing, agencies and consultants, and managing budgets.

Strong writing and editing skills in English

An ability to network with colleagues, external influencers such as journalists and industry organisations, is a vital prerequisite of the job. A regular programme of visits and international travel should be expected, depending on global health circumstances.
