WHAT A DAY LOOKS LIKE
In the role as PR/Media Relations Manager you will manage and coach a group of nine senior Corporate PR specialists. You are responsible for developing the global PR/Media Relations strategy. On top of that you lead the PR/Media Relations process by defining, planning, executing and following up proactive/compassionate communication to relevant stakeholders. This includes to build long lasting business relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers. You will proactively contribute in business strategy & planning discussions, as part of the Integrated Communication management team.
Apart from this you will also:
• Be a global spokesperson and responsible for the development of spokespersons on global level to position IKEA as a meaningful and trusted brand
• Secure effective alignment of PR/Media Relations communication objectives to formulated business goals and stakeholder objectives.
• Set global standards and guidelines on global PR/Media Relations and secure sufficient communications resources & expertise to drive worldclass proactive work in the PR/Media Relations team.
• Lead the PR matrix together with PR/Media Relations Team.
This position is in our vibrant Global Head office in Malmö (across the street from the IKEA Malmö Store) and we work here the majority of the week – co-creating and collaborating!

ABOUT PR/MEDIA RELATIONS – GROUP COMMUNICATION
We support the business by increasing the quality and the quantity of earned media coverage of IKEA as a purpose-led retailer and leader in life at home, climate and equality, by proactive storytelling and reactive preparedness. We work proactively around campaigns, events, stories, and announcements, and reactively respond to media inquiries through the Ingka Group Press Office. We operate the global newsroom at ingka.com which nurtures relationships with global media/influencers and support our positioning ambition, we train and prepare company spokespeople, monitor media and social conversations, and are prepared to respond in situations posing reputational risk to the brand.
