The medical device market that Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) serves consists of an extremely demanding customer base where world class quality is not an option, but a basic qualifier to do business. We are establishing a dedicated Medical Quality and Service Team to drive quality and supply improvements within SMT's medical product offering and as such are looking to recruit 3 Medical Quality Specialists. You will report to the Medical Quality and Service Manager, within Sandvik Bioline.You will work as member of a team to identify opportunities and drive ongoing improvements in the manufacturing processes and logistical supply chain of SMT's medical offer, (regardless of product form or production location). The ambition is to drive medical product quality, delivery and customer service to world class and further enhance Sandvik's market position in this key niche application area. The location of these positions will primarily be Sandviken, however, it is expected that extensive overseas travel may be necessary on a regular basis to fulfill the job role.An element of direct external customer contact will also be required. Key performance areas .Identify gaps & improvement areas and formulate long term sustainable solutions..Drive projects at high speed whilst meeting demanding targets and deadlines..Achieve customer satisfaction in line with the high expectations of the medical market..Initiate, support and follow up plans for process flow, process FMEA and process control together with production, QA and logistics functions of the involved Product Units..Play an important role in supporting production staff and operators within the Product Units..Liaise with the existing quality function within the Product Areas and provide 'hands on' support. Your profile .Previous experience with medical products or the medical market is desirable but not essential..A background or qualification in an Engineering based discipline e.g.machine, materials, physical metallurgy is demanded..Relevant knowledge of manufacturing of tube, strip, wire or bars in alloyed steels and special alloys as well as experience from at least two of following processes as melting, billet rolling, hot rolling, forging, heat treatment, cold rolling, extrusion, pilgering and surface conditioning by pickling, scale turning, grinding etc.are desirable..Some experience within quality issues and multivariate data analysis (e.g.SIMCA)..Good analytical skills and the ability to present data..A 'can do' attitude that embraces challenge and change..An ability to work and communicate with people at all levels within the organization..The ability to demonstrate results in a measurable and consistent format..You will not be afraid to ask difficult questions..Good level of spoken and written English is required.Knowledge of other languages such as French, German and Spanish will be considered as an additional asset.
