About the role
As the demand and need for recycled metal is increasing, Fortum Recycling and Waste wants to be a part of the solution and offer our customers efficient end-to-end solutions for more efficient use of the earth's resources. With the intention of expanding the Metals Recycling business, we are looking for a local Metal Sourcing Manager to take the first steps to start up the business in Sweden.
As Metal Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for the metal sourcing and service sales, which means you will manage end to end sourcing and service sales activities for the metal business line in Sweden. Your mission is to secure high-quality materials and services to existing and new customers.
Main areas of responsibilities
- Starting the Metal business in Sweden, which includes making and implement efficient sourcing strategies, and ensures profitable and efficient material flow to assets and sales
- Manage and develop customer relationships and create value for customers
- Service sales planning and execution including pricing
You will report to Head of Metals Business Line and be a part of the business management team. You will be located at the base office in Upplands Väsby. Travel within Sweden will occur.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in the role, you need to have solid knowledge and work experience of scrap metal, its business area, and basic processes. Academic or other post-secondary education is a merit but not a requirement. We believe that you have worked at a strategic level in the scrap metal business and have a wide network in the industry.
You need to have a solid commercial understanding of market and customers. We also think that you have experience of being responsible for negotiations and contract writing and knowledge of cost calculations, risk estimation and benchmarking. An overall good business judgement is crucial. Fluent speaking in English and Swedish is necessary.
Your personality is important
We think you are driven, commercial and like to work both strategically and operationally. You have a good ability to work independently as well as with other functions and stakeholders, and you are unpretentious and generous with your knowledge of scrap metal towards other parts of the business.
Your communicative skills are strong, and you have proven ability to build and sustain both networking and long-term relationships. You are structured, analytical, and you have good negotiation skills. You feel comfortable with figures and in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data needed to make the best possible decisions. It is a merit if you have experience of working in matrix organization.
Your personal qualities will be especially important in this recruitment.
