The Virtual Method & IT department has the global responsibility to develop, implement and support the Manufacturing Engineering functions with methods & IT solutions within Virtual Manufacturing & PLM. The Method Developer is a major driver to reduce lead time, increase engineering output and secure quality assured deliverables for the Manufacturing Engineering organization. The department works in close cooperation with similar functions within Research & Development, Volvo Cars IT and IT vendors.

As a Method Developer you have the competence to understand business demands and requirements together with good knowledge to describe and visualise the IT delivery. You are the link between the business and IT in your area for both new developments and support activities within the area.

Main responsibilities

* Run development projects within the virtual manufacturing area
* Initiate, develop and implement robust solutions (IT-methods & business processes)
* Support and train end users of different virtual tools used in the manufacturing verification and planning process
* Actively strive to apply continuous improvements within the area
* Translate business requirements into IT-design specifications

Required qualifications

* B.Sc in Engineering (such as mechanical, automation, IT)
* Work experience in the area of Virtual Manufacturing with application such as Process Simulate or similar
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Project Management experience is meritorious
* Work experience in the manufacturing engineering area is meritorious

Personal qualities

* Curious, outgoing and perceptive with good interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with method development and implementation
* Service minded
* Ability to both work independently and in teams
