Method Technician

Diagnostics & Service Engineering:
The department in Eskilstuna consists of about 25 people, in various roles such as technical writers, method technicians and diagnostic engineers. The department has the main function to produce information and tools for operation, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of products within Volvo Construction Equipment. We are involved in the development of new products together with research & development departments in Sweden, Germany, France, United States, Korea, India, Japan and China. That means occasionally travelling within and outside of Sweden.


Main tasks:
You participate as one of the department's representatives in development projects of new generations of wheel loaders and associated components. Your task in development projects is to influence the design of the wheel loaders with regard to maintainability. This is done by setting requirements before the project starts, giving product criticism and verifying requirements during the project
Together with technical writers and other method technicians, you develop and determine working methods, function descriptions, special tools and times spent on service and repairs of wheel loaders and associated components
You support product support with your know-how and produce data for service bulletins etc.

Desirable qualifications:
You have very good knowledge of and interest in modern vehicle and machine technology
Your experience of service and repair of construction machinery is solid
Your understanding of a mechanic's needs is based on your own experience
You easily collaborate with your colleagues in the group and at the same time as you can plan and complete the work that is performed for longer periods on your own
You can easily express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing. Other languages ​​are meritorious
You are used to computers as a natural work tool in your everyday life
Experience of renovating diesel engines, transmissions and drive axles is an advantage
