Do you want to be part of Misum’s team and support our work as well as ongoing sustainable development at SSE? Misum is looking for a dedicated Research and Communication Assistant to join the Misum Head Quarter team from August 2022!
This is a full-time, time-limited employment and the initial employment period is 11 months with the possibility of extension.
As the Research and Communication Assistant, you will work closely with the Misum’s Executive Director, Misum’s Executive Coordinator, the Research Directors, and the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, complementing the activities of administrative and outreach staff.
Tasks:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support Misum headquarters with research and administrative tasks such as donor reports, annual reports, yearly reporting and communication with research affiliates
- Draft and write research briefs, reports and research applications (internal research reports plus assistance for bigger public reports)
- Assist in setting up and running the tech and logistics of research workshops, seminars and larger outreach events such as academic conferences (physical and hybrid)
- Help maintain communication channels through the internal portal, and externally facing social media accounts and webpage content
- Help to coordinate the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education initiative at SSE
- Work on other project tasks as required with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with the various departments of SSE and students to support the work of the “Sustainable SSE” umbrella group
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a profound knowledge of, interest in, and understanding of sustainability
- Is accurate and detailed in both administrative and research project management work
- Is well-organized, proactive and can work independently as well as in teams
- Can communicate about research with academics, students, practitioners and the media
- Has very good writing skills and can aptly summarize sustainability-related academic articles on a variety of topics
- Has exceptional spoken and written English
- Has a university master degree
- Familiarity with social media
Good to have but not necessary:
- Experience from similar work tasks and workplace
- Familiarity with finance, economics and general business concepts and terms
- Prior project management experience including organizing digital and physical events
- Prior social media communication experience
- Knowledge of Swedish
