On behalf of Yale as a part of the Assa Abloy Group, we are currently looking for App Engineers delivering excellent solutions and products to the market.

The Yale Smart Residential team will be intensifying their R&D investments to support these very inspiring growth plans.
Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining, updating and evolving the core manifestation of the user experience, the mobile application.
The work is done in a small multi-disciplinary technical team, along with project and product management. We apply a modern approach to the way we work; sprints are planned, stand-up meetings are held to lay out the details and track progress, backlogs are maintained, and we seek to ensure a good balance of new feature development vs maintenance.
You would also be:
Participating in leading the mobile app development.
Having strong influence over technical choice, direction and strategy.
Designing the solution with consideration to scalability, modularity, robustness, uptime and security.
Following industry standard structures, principles, and processes.
Building and maintaining subject matter expertise within our mobile application solutions.
Working in a small team very much involves being hands-on; coding, prototyping etc.

The skills and experience you need
Most probably the ideal candidate will have a university degree slanted toward one or several relevant engineering disciplines.
The ideal candidate will have significant relevant work experience, with most of the time spent on mobile application development, design, and maintenance.
Clear evidence of achieving targets and delivering growth.
Experience of working with consumer electronics is valued highly.
Highly desirable to have experience specifically from working with utility-centric mobile applications, with regular server round-trip interactions.
Experience from working in a global organization, working across time zones and international travel, is beneficial.

Technical skills include:
General knowledge of all aspects of mobile app (Android & iOS) development, development environments, tools, methods and processes.
Hands on experience and familiarity with the fully cycle of development, test, deployment.
Experience from working with both Google Play and Apple App Store release processes.
Experience from developing code, using Native iOS & Android and combo of Swift, Obj-c, Java & Kotlin.
Experience from using RESTful API’s and real time asynchronous communication (XMPP or MQTT).
Experience from integrating 3rd party libraries.
Ideally experience from working with IOS watches.
Experience from working with IoT security, and comfortable with authentication principles, encryption concepts, cryptographical methods.
Experience working with Bluetooth, close to hardware development and desirably Alarm systems.
Must be a systematic thinker who uses data to drive decision making.
Experience from developing customer interfaces and interactions.
