General entry qualifiaions       

The products that our team designs are all complex systems, including automation and mechatronics, a dream job for engineers. Thus, we are searching for a passionate engineer within Product Development, who has a genuine interest in system and automation design and likes to do work hands on together with our great lab crew to verify the developed solutions.

This position is for you who has a genuine interest in technical challenges and always stays curious. We put high value in your social skills and a proactive way of working.

What you know 

You recognize yourself as an independent and enthusiastic, with an academic degree level of B.Sc. or higher. Besides these attributes, you are a responsible individual, like to work proactively, pull your own tasks, and most important being a true team player.

We expect you to have knowledge within:
* Design of control systems, automation.
* Design of simulation models to represent the physical system.
* Knowledge/experience in working with Model Based Design with Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow is considered as an advantage, as well as PLC programming, (B&R, Siemens etc.)
* Knowledge/experience in mechatronics is an advantage

About the job 

You will be an important player in the new Product Development Marine department within R&D High Speed Separators, which is focusing on separators and systems for marine applications.

Alfa Laval is the world leader in marine separation. The separator is used to clean fuel- and lubrication oils among other things on the vessels. This is a focus area within the company and a lot of investments has been done in the last couple of years and will continue.

You will be a part of a team working with the development of the next generation control systems using Model Based Design with Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow and will contribute to the whole chain of taking concepts to product. This means analysis of technical data, development of concepts, being involved in both lab-test and field-test, run and evaluate simulations and finalize all documentation needed to release a product. A vital part of the role is to understand our product and the different applications and customer needs.
