Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies, LUCSUS is a platform for education, research and cooperation inside andoutside academia on questions related to sustainable development.LUCSUS operates independent from any faculty.The role of LUCSUS is to promote approaches to issues related to sustainable development by:
initiating and coordinating transdisciplinary research proposals.Since LUCSUS is an umbrella organisation, it can create research coalitions with any university department or outside organisation on a project by project basis.Today 14 PhD students and researchers at different departments are involved and fully or partly funded by research projects coordinated by LUCSUS.
We are looking for a modeler/programmer for development of a modeling environment for complex agent based models in interface between public social systems and natural systems, foremost ecosystems.
The job requires good experiences of inter disciplinary work and thinking within the area of sustainable development since it includes both computer science and natural science as well as social and political science.The position also requires project management experience.Furthermore is required
* Excellent knowledge in Java programming.JSP, JavaScript, HTML
* Excellent knowledge in UML and AML
* Excellent knowledge in database handling
* Excellent knowledge about agent based modeling environments (ABM) such as AnyLogic, Mason, Repast
* Good knowledge about system dynamic modeling environments such as STELLA and Vensim
* Good knowledge about geographic information systems (GIS), foremost ArcGIS
Since the work language is English very good skills in expressing itself both verbal and in writing on English is required.
