R&D at Tube division use finite element modeling (FEM) as a way of understanding and solving problems within product and process development. We are now looking to strengthen our operations in Sandviken with two curious and target-oriented engineers. Our networks are widely spread all over SMT, both locally and globally, and we offer you an exciting and complex working environment. Job Summary
As an engineer with modeling background, you are responsible for identifying and managing calculations and simulations in order to develop new, or optimize current, products and processes within SMT. In your work, you work as a role model to inspire, challenge, provide support and solve the technical problems within the Tube division. You will be the one who, together with our producing units, drives and participates in process and production development in the field of cold and hot processing. You work with model development and experimental methods to improve prediction capability of the models that enable production to produce existing and future products at the right quality and efficiency.
Main location is in Sandviken but there may be some trips to our producing units around the world.
Your profile
We are looking for you who have a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics or another similar area, combined with skills in modeling and analytical calculations. You have knowledge and experience from working with mechanics, numerical methods and FEM, and your great interest in models, technical calculations and problem solving are highly valued assets. Knowledge of MSC Marc (FEM) and Matlab is an advantage. As we work and interact across country borders, we expect you to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, while skills in Swedish are advantageous.

You may be either newly graduated or PhD with long experience in modeling, this could be a great opportunity for you. The role can be adapted based on your experience.
