Molecular Analyses of Genetic Resources

NordGen has a vacancy for a laboratory staff member. The primary responsibilities will be performing DNA analysis within frames of NordGen´s projects (DNA extraction, PCR, marker analysis), planning the laboratory activities, developing methods and tools, and maintenance of the molecular DNA laboratory (equipment, chemicals and purchase of necessary materials). Work tasks will also include analysis of molecular data, planning of projects together with the plant experts, maintenance of good laboratory practice, as well as to contribute to the development of the laboratory by introducing new methods, update the current ones and look for new laboratory solutions in the future. The work will be carried out in a Nordic and international environment at NordGen´s office in Alnarp.

Your qualifications:

* You have an education in biology, life sciences, genetics or similar topics and experience from work in a molecular laboratory.
* You have working experience with PCR based methods, DNA extraction and sterile work and you are familiar with troubleshooting and adapting/developing methods to meet new conditions.
* You have experience in analysis and interpretation of molecular data.
* You are fluent in English and/or in one of the Nordic languages.
* You have experience with quality assurance of laboratory work.
* You are thorough, independent and have a strong sense of responsibility.
* You have good cooperation skills.

NordGen offers

* A full time position with an employment contract according to the regulations of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The employment contract will be signed first for 4 years with the possibility for an additional 4 years. Other working conditions are given by the regulation of the employment agreements of the State of Sweden.
