Molecular Biologist at AstraZeneca

We are now looking for a Research Scientist focused on molecular biology for an assignment at AstraZeneca. You will work as a consultant, start as soon as possible and the duration of the assignment is 12 months.

We are seeking for a scientific and technical specialist in the mouse transgenic field. As a successful candidate you are experimentally focused, with strong troubleshooting skills, adept at putting ideas into practice and providing support to our mouse model generation pipeline.

The main tasks will be the generation and analysis of transgenic animal and cell models, aligned with broad AstraZeneca R&D needs. You will have experience in transgenic models and, from a lab-based perspective, make significant contributions to the practical delivery of project goals.

Qualification:

Relevant candidates have an academic degree in Molecular Biology, Cellbiology, Biochemistry, , Biotechnology or equivalent


•Experience in executing strategies for genome modification for animal and cell models, a strong molecular biology background is essential together with an in-depth understanding and experience of cutting edge methodologies employed to modify mammalian genomes.

•Excellence and hands-on experience in a wide range of cell and molecular biology methods including TaqMan and genotyping.

•Adept at analysis of transgenic models, particularly in detection and quantitation of gene expression

•Strong in cross-functional working and communication

Functional knowledge

Ideally you have experience in a relevant scientific discipline preferably with several years of experience in transgenic model development, drug discovery and/or early development.

Candidates should be organized, have good social skills and be strong team players. You should be able to work independently, take own initiatives and have a positive and goal oriented attitude.
