iCellate develops and provide Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based diagnostic services in the areas of hereditary cancer, cancer diagnostics and personalized cancer treatment. We provide the in-house developed service GeneMate® which analyzes genomic DNA for increased risk of hereditary cancers and our R&D focuses on liquid biopsy NGS based analyses of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and circulating tumor cells (CTC) for personalized cancer treatment and early cancer diagnosis.

We are now looking for a molecular geneticist with a Ph.D. degree to work with genomic and somatic variant interpretation and reporting as well as developing these capabilities in our R&D projects. Furthermore, you will contribute to our R&D projects at as a scientific expert in questions related to cancer genetics and cancer biology. In the role of molecular geneticist, you will also be responsible for developing and maintaining our strategies, platforms and capabilities for variant interpretation and reporting. You will work in close collaboration with the laboratory team, our genetic counselor and clinical geneticist.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for genomic and somatic variant interpretation from next generation sequencing (NGS) data from patient samples, prepare and sign reports.
• Responsible for the development of strategies, workflows, platforms, and databases concerning genomic and somatic variant interpretation and reporting
• Contributes as a scientific expert in questions related to cancer genetics and cancer biology as well as variant interpretation in our R&D projects.
• As a scientific expert, together with the R&D team, develop the iCellate’s R&D pipeline.
• Working with internal procedures according to the international laboratory standard for medical laboratories ISO15189
• If applicable, perform laboratory work in R&D or customer samples as part of our Operations activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:
• Ph.D. in cancer genetics, molecular medicine, molecular biology, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 year’s experience of work with cancer genetics and cancer biology.
• Experience in working with NGS (Next Generation Sequencing)
• Experience from working with bioinformatics, software for molecular genetics and genomic analysis, and genetic databases.
• Experience from working with reporting guidelines for both genomic and somatic genetic testing
• Experience from working under ISO15189 or ISO17025 is a merit
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
