Motion Control Specialist

You will be part of the automation research and development team and will contribute as specialist in our systems for motion control and automation of container cranes.
In this important role, you will actively work with implementation of automation solutions and crane control algorithms as well as take technical leadership for R&D work packages.
This role is reporting to the Manager for Motion Control & Sensor department.
Your responsibilities
Develop systems and solutions for crane motion and control using your state of the art expertise in control theory.
Improve on our automation solutions as well as establish simulations related to crane motion control and load position control.
Work actively with sensor solutions in relation to control optimization to increase performance and accuracy and develop solutions to advanced automation problems.
Take technical leadership and ensure identified R&D work packages gets implemented working with resources in the department.
Support existing customers and projects with control optimizations.
Expanding your knowledge base of customer needs and technological developments in control theory and simulation systems.
Pursuing new ideas for technological innovation and sharing expertise in team meetings and technical reports.

Your background
A Masters’ degree in Control Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar.
Solid knowledge of control theory.
Competency in relevant programming languages 1131-3 Structured Text, Matlab, Python, C/C++.
Open to travel globally and support as specialist to optimize crane performance.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
English required, Swedish not mandatory but beneficial
Positive and proactive mindset, good communicative and collaborative skills.
