The essence of the role
This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of all Sinch network infrastructure residing in co-location data centers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other CSPs. The ideal candidate will have broad technical expertise, with demonstrable depth in Network Architecture and administration. Specific skills needed are Cisco iOS, ASA, advanced routing protocols, IPSec, DMVPN, MPLS and hybrid infrastructure integration.
Experience with AWS /Azure Cloud network configuration is a huge plus. VPC peering , Direct Connect and other Networking products knowledge. This position is suited to a Mid- level engineer with exceptional troubleshooting/ problem-solving skills and the ability to think “on the fly” and arrive at effective solutions.
The ideal candidate has knowledge of:
· Switching (spanning tree, etherchannel, 802.1q VLANs)
· Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
· Packet capture and analysis
· IP layer access control • IOS and ASA based IPSEC VPNs
· Experience upgrading IOS, ASA, and associated software
· Networking in AWS and understanding of cloud environments is needed.
· Change Management and ITIL process knowledge.
· System Administrator knowledge at infrastructure(server) level is a plus.
· Experience monitoring network performance/availability and performing ad hoc analysis
· Strong background in enterprise level data center design and deployment
· Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems networking components and available tools
· Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure as relates to networking (integrating a hybrid infrastructure, managing routing tables, implementing virtual appliances, network tuning and optimization).
· Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision. • Ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of end users.
· Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage project details while balancing multiple priorities.
As our new Network Engineer you will:
Responsible for management, maintenance and architecture of all network and security devices
Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively.
Participate in capacity planning/analysis and implementation of systems.
Take lead and work together with the team and external suppliers in troubleshooting/resolving system outages and other incidents to ensure performance and stability.
Create and maintain documentation related to data centers, systems, applications and networks.
Work with global team members to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Sinch network and services.
When required, perform site inventories and installations at various local and remote data center locations.
